The racers will be going through downtown Miami along the coastline of Biscayne Bay and around the AmericanAirlines Arena, as they compete for the winner’s circle.

Every year in Miami, FL, there’s a celebration of Latin culture on 8th street. This festival shuts down city streets for an event you don’t want to miss. Filled with couples dancing salsa, 12 stages for performers and musicians playing and the beats of bachata, hip hop, reggeaton, and more, you can taste of the many cultures of Latin America. While on the subject of taste, like most festivals, Calle Ocho has plenty of home cooked specialties to get your tastes buds doing the merengue.

Now celebrating 10 years of unforgettable jazz concerts, Miami brings to you ?Jazz in the Gardens,?, the most-anticipated jazz festival in the country. This year’s headliners are R. Kelly, Toni Braxton, Maxwell, and jazz pianist Brian Culberton and Men of Soul. There will be a pre-festival party on March 20th, as well as a Women’s Impact Conference & Luncheon, followed by shopping and community events. Then, on March 21st, get ready for the best sounds of jazz and R&B to hit your ears.

Get a look at the new and upcoming designs from the new kids on the block in the world of fashion, and well known international fashion designers at the Funkshion. Happening three times a year, it’s hard to miss this event. This isn’t like your normal ?Fashion Week? of Miami; sure there’s fashion, showcases, and parties, but Funkshion is set in a fun and upbeat environment, with a live DJ, and the event is absolutely free to the public. You do have to RSVP to save your spot, but once you do, the runaway is yours, hypothetically speaking.

Watch the best tennis players in the world get together at the Crandon Park Tennis Center this year. Champions of Tennis, such as Rafael Nadal, Andrew Murray, Serena Williams, and others will go head-to-head in this two-week tennis event. However, Miami Open isn’t just for tennis; there are stages for live music performances, spots to shop til’ you drop, and great places to relax and grab a meal like the Bombay Sapphire Lounge or the Veuve Clicquot Champagne and Sushi Bar. Plus, if you’re a tennis fan, you may be star struck during the Q&A sessions with this year’s players.

Are you ready for the hottest music scene of South Florida? In downtown Miami, every year, the hottest festival to experience rave and electronic dance music is the ULTRA Music Festival. A weekend-long celebration going on for more than 15 years has some of the biggest names in the EDM world. Artists like Madonna, Fatboy Slim, DJ Tiesto, Benny Benassi, and others show up to perform for the fans of EDM. There are also other stars that aren’t part of EDM, but perform at this festival, such as The Cure, Black Eyed Peas, the Killers, and more. If you’re going to any party destination this year, it’s downtown Miami for the ULTRA Music Festival.

For the largest event of the year, happening in a single day in Miami Beach, is the annual Gay Pride Parade. Colorful floats move down the street, members of the LGBT community and their allies dress up in costume, and everyone gets ready to have a good time at this party. Although the parade and party only last a day, the celebration doesn’t die down until the weekend comes to an end. Go to the Parade, hit up the party, and the next day enjoy live music performances, VIP events, and more.

To delight your taste buds with a treat, come and join the fun with food lovers who have been celebrating the taste of Coconut Grove for over 20 years. This is a great weekend to get the family together and try something new, especially when it comes to food – you have to be a little adventurous. With more than 20 restaurants serving up platters of their best meals, carnival rides for kids, music concerts, live cooking demonstrations, and of course as the name suggests, wine and cocktails for the adults, you really can get a great taste of the grove at this festival.

There will be craft beer tasting, fine wine tasting, an interactive dinner where a celebrity chef will guide you through the preparation of a gourmet meal, and a whole lot more. From all over the world, Polo players come to Miami to compete in championship tournaments for men and women to take home the La Martina Trophy. For four days, the best players compete, and attendees enjoy not only the tournament, but VIP events and festivities throughout the event. At the end of the tournament, an award ceremony is held to honor the men and women teams that won the championship.

The most popular fundraiser in Miami for LGBT women is Aqua Girl, filled with dance parties, cocktail receptions, beach and pool parties, a girl’s rock concert, and a lot more. Starting in 1999, Aqua Girl has been celebrating the women of LGBT, beginning with a one-day event that quickly exploded into the 5-day event it is today. Women from all around America and the world come together to celebrate and have a great time at the country’s largest charity for women, Aqua Girl, where 100% of the proceeds go to the Aqua Foundation for Women.

The event has become such a hit, that a Design Miami spin-off is starting to take place in Switzerland. It’s a fantastic combination of the world’s top Salsa and Latin music wrapped up into a 5-day festival. From around the world, performers and fans travel to Miami every year for this Latin experience, featuring music, pool parties, dance workshops, evening galas, DJ’s, and much more.

Featuring traditional and contemporary dance, dance and drumming workshops, musical performances, and panel discussions, this event is a success every year. This year, Miami is celebrating 20 years of what’s considered the most important ballet festival in the USA. Nearly a month long, the dance series features all kinds of performances. The international young medalists performances features gold medal winning young ballet arts from all over the world to dance. There are four more programs featuring ballet artists, accompanied by workshops during the day, Dance Master classes, and an art exhibit series. It all starts on August 29th, lasting through the majority of September.

It’s time for a masquerade party, and this year, Miami is making its mark with over 50,000 participants at the Miami Broward One Carnival. Join the fun and celebrate the cultures of the Caribbean, listen to the music of more than twenty bands, and of course, enjoy some Caribbean food. The nightlife events are hosted by clubs and venues, not affiliated with the Carnival, but viewed as locations for after parties following the event.

On Columbus Day, nearly 300 different crews sail around Biscayne Bay for a day of festivity and boat races. Thousands of spectators go every year to watch these sail boats participate in this annual nautical event. Following the race is a little dinner and dance party, featuring alcoholic beverages and a live band performance.

Founded in 2002, the Miami Short Film Festival has been going on for over 10 years, starring short films in a variety of genres. Each short film is about 20 minutes or less, and exhibits a growing movement in the art form of short films. The United Chinese Association of Florida presents the Dragon Boat Festival every year in Miami, bringing you music performances, kung fu demonstrations, health and fitness exhibits, arts and crafts, and much more. Of course, as the name suggests, there will also be a Dragon Boat race, so come to Miami and cheer them on while celebrating a tradition that has lasted for over 2000 years.
